São Tomé’s biodiversity allows the observation of many species of animals:
Birds
Leaving early in the morning, then walks in the corn fields to see local and endemic birds. Meet with the guide José who will explain all the details.
Whales and dolphins
Early morning departure from the village of Morro Peixe to watch whales (July, August and September) or watch common and pantropical dolphins (all year).
Sea turtles
From September to March, you can go on night patrols on the northern beaches to watch the sea turtles lay eggs. (from 18h)
From November until May, you can accompany the Tatô Program guards to assist in the release of the sea turtle hatchlings into the sea (around 5pm).
